Comparison of Unilateral Biportal Endoscopic Discectomy with Other Surgical Technics: A Systemic Review of Indications and Outcomes of Unilateral Biportal Endoscopic Discectomy from the Current Literature
2022, World NeurosurgeryCitation Excerpt :In both the transforaminal and interlaminar approaches to endoscopic 1-portal spine surgery, surgeons have to maneuver the surgical instruments through a single portal, which typically does not allow enough decompression.46 In 1996, De Antoni et al.47 reported the first technical note in which an endoscope and the instrument were inserted independently through 2 portals. Two years later, these investigators described the use of standard arthroscopic instruments for magnification, illumination, and irrigation and reported the clinical results.48
