The International Journal of Spine Surgery (IJSS) is a publication aimed at disseminating high-quality spine surgery research to an audience of physicians, policy-makers, and patients. To achieve this goal of maximizing the impact of the research we publish, IJSS is an open access journal and provides access to its articles without any paywall or subscription. As of October 15, 2021, the IJSS has implemented a publication fee, or article processing charge (APC), for accepted manuscripts. The APC is $500 per accepted manuscript for ISASS members and $750 per accepted manuscript for ISASS nonmembers. Visit the APC page for more information.
Authors are required to transfer copyright to the IJSS before publication. However, the IJSS follows the Creative Commons Licensing Agreement CC BY-NC-ND.
