The International Journal of Spine Surgery (IJSS) is a publication aimed at disseminating high-quality spine surgery research to an audience of physicians, policy-makers, and patients. To achieve this goal of maximizing the impact of the research we publish, IJSS provides access to its articles without any paywall or subscription. Likewise, the IJSS has opted not to charge author fees; submitting an article and publishing with the Journal remains just as free as reading articles. The Journal is funded by reprints, advertisements, partnerships, grants, donations, and so on.
Authors are required to transfer copyright to the IJSS before publication. However, the IJSS follows the Creative Commons Licensing Agreement CC BY-NC-ND. This license allows authors, researchers, members of the public, and other non-commercial entities to freely use our content.
